Drone Valley Brewery help a Bake-Off competition recently…the rules being that the ingredients had to be sourced locally. At the Chatsworth Country Show, a few weeks before, I had seen wheat being milled, so I bought some. The wheat field had been grown at nearby Eastmoor. Then, using locally buzzed honey, and beers from…you can guess where….I made a couple of loaves of bread..one containing a stout ale, the other ‘Land of Hop and Glory’
The loaves were on display, along with a tub of butter and a carving knife. Slices went down very well with all there….and I was so pleased to then be awarded the trophy!
