Looks like a good event to go to……

Hello all,
We are part of a new event we are launching at the Kelham Island Museum offering a place to showcase and buy Sheffield made tools. This event takes place on Sunday 11th Sepetmber, 11am-4pm. The event is running alongside a heritage weekend and behind the scenes tours of the Hawley tool collection (book able before the event). Please contact the museum for more info on this.Entry fees for museum apply (£6 or concession £5). £2 only for those entering the tool event.

We are hoping to raise awareness of all the great tools still manufactured locally and in many cases exported globally. All the companies exhibiting champion manufacturing in Britain and this is really something UK consumers should be aiming to support. It’s a great way for us to showcase the products we all manufacture, many of which have been made in Sheffield for over 100s of years.
Most of us are the only manufacturers of these items in the UK which is something we pride ourselves on.

Exhibitors are as follows:
Thomas Flinn & Co – manufacturers of high quality saws and hand planes (brands such as Pax, garlick saw company and Clifton planes)
footprint tools – builders and woodworking tools
Robert Sorby – wood turning tools and woodworking tools
Joseph Marples – makers of joiners tools
Ernest wright – scissors
Arthur Pooley – swords
A.R. Wright – knives
Atkinson Walker – circular saws

The Kelham island is the perfect setting for an event of this nature. We are taking pre orders if you want to see anything in particular and also we can make items post show if needed.

Please join us to celebrate Sheffield’s tool industry, past and present.
